Brave New World (Part 3): In which Pikachu holds a question and answer session, covering the meaning of life.

Wow, what a fascinating story! Pikachu tried his best but what can you do? In other news Imogen has finally consented to an interview of her puppet project! More on that later!!!!1

Brave New World (Part 2): In which Pikachu tries to teach Mehmet about Power & Love.

Good stuff right? This new family friendly(ish) line of webcomic is really working, amIright?!

I don't know if you read Imogen's 'blog' this week, she has really stopped trying, just as the ever popular PikaPokeBlog has kicked off with another amazing storyline!!!

In other news, Imogen still refuses to be interviewed on her upcoming puppet play!!!  What does she have to hide? When will the lies stop? What is she so afraid of? I will not rest until she consents to questioning!!!

News: Puppet Play Excitement

Dear Fans of the PikaPokeBlog,

This week sees the announcing of tour dates for the exciting play sensation: 'I Have Never Cared For Sunsets: A History', primarily written by the PikaPokeBlogs rabid enemy Imogen 'The Noise' Clarke. This puppet-based show is an adaptation of her original stageplay, and involves other people with no webcomic credits who I won't bore you with now.

I for one am willing to give the puppet-play a chance, as the world needs culture (which is obviously the overall aim of WebComicBattle2012), even though Imogen openly resists cross promotion with the ever popular PikaPokeBlog!!!

Anyway...here are the tour dates:

-Brighton Fringe: 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th of May.
-Secret Garden Party festival, 19th to the 22nd of July.
(Obviously I will be attending a press screening and reviewing HERE)

Now, I know what you're thinking: "But why should I see this play, I hate the Princess Lovelyface blog, it doesn't challenge me or make me think", yes, that is a reasonable point of view, that is why I am graciously offering to interview Imogen LIVE* on the PikaPokeBlog, asking the questions that YOU want answered!!! Lets see what the 'Queen of Preen' has to say for herself, CAN SHE DEFEND HER BLOG AND GET YOU TO ATTEND HER PLAY?!?!?!?!!

The challenge is out there, will she dare take up the gauntlet?!!??!!?

*this may not be logistically possible, but will do something similar.

Brave New World (Part 1): In which Pikachu creates a whole new universe of his own.

Wellity wellity wellity, you people didn't think I could write a non extreme social realism blog (drugs and rape) and OH how wrong you were. Watch as Pikachu creates a whole new world with his innate magical essence and explores it, shaping and reshaping it as necessary. The PikaPokeBlog just got interesting, follow each week, the electric Pokémon king, just became a God!

The Times They are a-Changin': Part 7: Conclusion

Well there you have it, a conclusion to the award winning 'The Times They are a-Changin' storyline. Good stuff. I think we can all now draw a line under the crack and rape elements of the PikaPokeBlog (as discussed previously) and let Pikachu move on to other themes like....like, er....tune in next week and I'll probably thought of something!

Meanwhile Imogen's yawn-blog will be updated later today, what will it be I wonder? More nonsense with moustached one dimensional characters or a misjudged tongue in cheek mothers day special. Please let me know as I won't be checking.

The Times They are a-Changin': Part 6: The Chase Ends!

This is the penultimate edition of the award winning* 'The Times They are a-Changin' storyline. We've seen Pikachu run from comic world to world, ever pursued by the ferocious Mr Crayfish, but now the two finally meet.

Fun fact: The scientific name for a Roofie is 'Flunitrazepam'

The Times They are a-Changin': Part 5: Johnny Knows Best

Blah blah, Pikachu meets a new friend, the plot thickens, exposition exposition, Johnny Cash is going to help the misunderstood electric Pokémon defeat the fearsome Mr Crayfish in next weeks thrilling conclusion!

Freya: A Birthday Tribute to Freya

Please note that this story takes place outside of the PikaPokeBlog's overall continuity.

(This has now been invisibly altered due to threats from Freya)

The Times They are a-Changin': Part 2: Everyone hates Pikachu

So basically the PikaPokeBlog has branched out into actual storylines, pretty cerebral right? Pikachu is trying to go clean (partly because he's out of drugs and there's no real outlet for his other 'interests' in Smurftown). But oh no! Florence's gay dads and Pollywhirl are putting out a hit on him and sending the fearsome Mr Crayfish to hunt him down, what will happen next week...WHAT!?!?!

The Times They are a-Changin': Part 1: Pikachu makes a change

Looks like the Webcomic battle is hoting up, Pikachu has a new adventure, Imogen's blatant fraud has been outed. Everything is rosy in the world of the PikaPokeBlog once again.

STOP, THEIF!

Dear freethinking PikaPokeBlog readers,

It is with a heavy heart I reveal the shocking truth behind Imogen 'El Plagiarismo' Clarke's blog/webcomic. I was watching Bill Bailey on QI the other day (hilarious), and then it struck me, Bill Bailey...Black Books....Series 3, Epsiode 2...SHE STOLE THE WHOLE THING!!!

Those of you who have seen this episode will remember that Manny and Bernard drunkenly write a children's book (with comically poor results). Their story features a missing item, stolen by animals, which the protagonist searches for. Disgustingly obvious isn't it!!!?!??!!!?!!

Now, there's no doubting that Imogen stole the plot for her whole web-blog attempt from this episode, the only question left is: "Did she really think that she'd get away with it?" or perhaps: "Why not choose a good story to plagiarise...wait, does she not get that the joke is, that their story is weak!?"

No matter what you say about the PikaPokeBlog, you can't claim that it is plagiarised from a Channel 4 sit-com!

I would never call for Imogen to forfeit the webcomic battle (like she keeps bitchily doing to me), that's not my style, I like to think of myself as a classy upmarket sort. But you, you dear people, deserve so much better, remember last week when Imogen just reused her previous weeks blog post with slightly altered speech bubbles (maximum insult to your intelligence).

If Imogen reuses the same comic again, I will have to protest Tunisian style, and I suggest that you all do the same. And if she continues to rigidly stick top the plot of 'The Elephant and the Balloon', I will demand that she gives equal writing credits on her blog to Dylan Moran, Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley, the writers of Black Books series 3, epsiode 2 (Elephants and Hens).

Well, we'll see tomorrow won't we!?

Rorschach and Pikachu: Crime fighters!

This weeks webcomic/blog update has two pages, its not hard to work out:

I'm not going to lie to you, this weeks PikaPokeBlog update is poor. I seriously shot my wad with last weeks Garfield Invasion, which was great (particularly issue 5), but now that's over and I'm seriously out of ideas. This must be how Imogen feels every week, it feels bad! Next week I'll return to form (probably). Next week Pikachu will be up to new, more exciting shenanigans, promise.

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 7 "Conclusion"

For the past week, Pikachu has been living with John Arbuckle in a groundbreaking crossover. Pikachu has tormented John, shocking him, feeding him Garfield and continually dosing him with illegal drugs to the point of psychosis. Now witness the disappointingly low key conclusion.

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 6 "Penultimatum"

I don't feel that today's PikaPokeBlog instalment requires any introduction, except to say that its the penultimate instalment of the Garfield Invasion:

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 5 "John's starting to Crack"

Today's instalment looks at the serious subject of drug addiction, specifically the effects of 'crack'.

Crack cocaine is popularly thought to be the most addictive form of cocaine, and one of the most addictive forms of any drug. However, this claim has been contested: Morgan and Zimmer wrote that available data indicated that "...smoking cocaine by itself does not increase markedly the likelihood of dependence.... The claim that cocaine is much more addictive when smoked must be reexamined." They argued that cocaine users who are already prone to abuse are most likely to "move toward a more efficient mode of ingestion" (that is, smoking).

The intense desire to recapture the initial high is what is so addictive for many users. On the other hand, Reinarman et al. wrote that the nature of crack addiction depends on the social context in which it is used and the psychological characteristics of users, pointing out that many heavy crack users go for days or weeks without using the drugs. For more information on crack, consult your local library or drug dealer.

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 4

There's been a lot of hurtful and untrue things said this week (by Imogen). But today's PikaPokeBlog update is largely inoffensive, just good old fashioned slapstick. If there were a real life, kid friendly, John Arbuckle and Pikachu crossover comic, I think this could be an episode. I challenge anyone to get personally offended by John Arbuckle getting mildly electrocuted in the bath!

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 3

Hi, have you read Imogen 'all talk' Clarke's latest blog update? No? I don't blame you, its very long, and makes no real point at all, just some unprovable allegations about my motives and motifs. I'll save you the time, Imogen is scared AND confused by the recent change in direction that the PikaPokeBlog has taken. Observe below:

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 2

The all new look PikaPokeBlog continues its exciting Garfield invasion! Pikachu tries to apply the 'life lessons' he gained in Pokétown to,,,wherever John Arbuckle lives...Chicago I think...

Garfield Minus Garfield Plus Pikachu: Part 1

*New look, new look, sing the new look song!* The PikaPokeBlog has an all new look! Pikachu has learnt all the life lessons he needs to go it alone, but he can't go back to Pokétown for reasons covered in the '2012' storyline. Now Pikachu invades other comic worlds and feasts on their gooey insides...This week, Garfield! Or more specially, Garfield minus Garfield.

News Update: Pikachu & Pokémon vs Digimon & Cocaine

The PikaPokeBlog prides itself on being the web's premier social satire blog focusing on clichéd advice for youngsters, solely utilising Pokémon, featuring Pikachu. And that's from a packed field of contenders!

News:

-As you've seen last week, we get a lot of readers from Russia, and to them we'd like to say: спасибо за показание.

-The popular 2012 storyline will come to an end this month, and in an attempt to step up the webcomic battle with Imogen, an entirely new, exciting approach to storytelling will be explored in February!

-The letter writing competition is now closed to entries, as you can imagine there was a lot of interest, and the only letter received won!

Winning Letter:

Dear PikaPokaBlogMan
I notice you didn't go black to oppose SOPA and PIPA the other day. Did you mistake them for low-rent, late-iteration pokemon, scrabbling for recognition, or are you simply in favour of punitive and disproportionate measures to tackle copyright meddling and support the cocaine-swaddled business expectations of music and movie executives? There are a lot of criminals and intellectual property ne'erdowells out there, and I'd like your take on the matter.
Yours
Some Digimon or something

Winning reply:

Dear Winner,

Thank you for your letter, although you have not capitalised Pokémon or used a fancy e.

You raise an interesting point, are there better, more lavish ways of imbibing cocaine? I am unfamiliar with 'swaddled' as an accepted method. Presumably the participant would have to be naked? But even then, I'm not sure that you'd get the traditional effect, unless scoured. Perhaps you are exposing the executives as so decedent that they 'waste' their cocaine in a totally unenjoyable way!

In closing, I would like to stress that this blog uses copyrighted characters for satire, which I believe makes it legal.

any further letters are welcome...

regards,

PikaPokeBlog

Week in review!!! (With suggested further reading)

Its been a tremendous week for the PikaPokeBlog! Followers have gone up a staggering 250% on last year, signalling a strong interest in the '2012' storyline, set to unfold further on Sunday.

Imogen 'Big Brother' Clark made some slanderous wall posts, and her censorship blog published its massaged viewing stats, deliberately misinterpreting them as a validation. Just because someone visits a website, doesn't mean that they endorse it, example: I have visited that TubGirl website you may have heard of, it doesn't necessarily mean I approve of it, ditto LemonParty, 2Girls1Cup etc etc, the list goes on and on, these are largely deplorable websites, and their (presumably) high viewing stats don't represent endorsement, merely viewing.

If you judge real popularity and therefore value, by named, confirmed, proud followers, then I am winning the webcomic battle five fold, and that's based on stats provided by The Ministry of Truth herself! Perhaps she's too busy deciding on unacceptable words for her blog, which need to be removed from our language.

Other news:

-Objective, comparative, webcomic ratings will be coming near the end of the month.
-The blog's budget is set to expand to ensure its competitiveness, look out for lavish backgrounds and heart-stopping set piece action.
-Look out for more challenging issues as the ever popular PikaPokeBlog continues to update every Sunday, with midweek news updates.

Finally I wish you happiness and free thought, while Imogen and her friends in the 'inner party' repeat their message of: "We've always been at war with Eastasia".
